Tim Burton Film BIG FISH answers:

1. A big fish in a small pond indicates that the big fish is unhappy in the small, constrained environment he is in. It may also direct to exaggeration.
2. Edward Bloom was exaggerating the story of his life and relates how he wooed his wife with gold, to a wedding ring.
3.He was entertained at first, but he starts to distrust what his father says due to his common and long-term use of exaggeration, and was embarrassed by the falsified truth.
4. He wants to remind himself and convey a entertaining life  story to his child.
5. Edward Bloom and William Bloom are strangers who know each other very well. He didnt see anything of himself in his father and vice versa.
6. Telling a story this way definitely captures the audiences attention and entertains them, as its impossible to differentiate non-fiction from fiction, thus indicating the strong believability of his story, despite exaggeration.

7. It may undercut the believability of the story, but it depends on how it is told. Specifically forming the story with precise exaggeration, may be objectively successful. Definitely, with exaggeration, the believability of the story is marred, and the tall tale is no longer valid to be a straight reportage.
