One of the valuable things I have learnt last year in Language Arts is the knowledge on poems. I find them interesting, as they are woven with many poetic devices, managing to convey deep profound messages only to the knowledgeable. Last year, we learnt about the poetic devices, and sensory types ex. olfactory sense, and the tactile sense.
We learnt to unearth the jewels of the deep underlying message hidden in the poem( treasure), and how poetic devices, and sensory types are linked to creating and enhancing the main point the author wants to show.
This knowledge on poems may be very useful and valuable as I have harboured the thought of being a poet. And if I am, I would look back and thank my teacher for teaching me the fundamentals of poems, and for guiding me through the difficulties of the basics of the meaningful poems.
