From Newsweek by Christopher Dickey and John Barry.
I think that this article states the tension and pressure Obama receives during times like these-- the issues with Japan, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. I think, it is a normality for individuals like him, to feel exhausted. Even the world's best president is still a human being. Pressure and stress comes naturally. The article states that Obama's judgement is clouded and he has difficulty coping amid all the war, pileup, disasters, crisis, and wars. The description of Obama 'drinking from the fire hose' states the degree of his urgency, and exhaustion. As he is limiting his endurance, the article tries to sympathise with Obama, by comparing other presidents getting stressed up too.
I think that the story was very well written as it conveys a particular message that is to change the psychological mindset of accusing Obama for not handling all these issues properly. Through this article, as I read it word by word, I sympathise with all the stress and pressure Obama , alone, has to undergo or endure. The story was very effective with the cited evidences of different political leaders speeches from Eisenhower or Nichols. The article begs for the public's desire for romantic brilliance and quiet competence.
I think the article should include speeches of Obama himself so as to gain more symapthy and feel for him. Amid all the war, and clashes, and catastrophes, can one human being singularly clear a shroud of tension and exhaustion, then stepping back up with judgement and authority? Even the world's best president would find trouble with that.
