CIP on 21/3/11 Reflection

My Reflection:

I think that the CIP event on Founders Day, 21st of March, was a very enriching and fruitful event. It benefited everyone essentially; the elderly were more than satisfied ;we were very hard working, and mounted the 3M products dutifully . Most importantly, it was what I had learnt, or benefited, from this CIP.

Morally, I feel satisfied, and accomplished, aiding a little in helping the helpless and needy. I felt I played a part to separate at least a little from their deplorable prospect that seemed to secure them to bondages of loneliness, or boredom. I mixed around with the elderly or underprivileged, making sure that they were always exuberant, by keeping them company. I chit chatted with them, and indeed, enlarged my friendship with them. Some of them had the drive, motivation and a goal to work towards after retirement, filling the voids that precedes old age . How? By serving the nearby community centres, or government centres, and maybe helping out the older neighbours who were partially immobile. My heart melted when I saw the old taking care of the old; gradually I realized it had an influential impact on me.

But most of all, what I really had experienced through this enriching CIP, is that it makes me happy, and satisfied to see them happy; a smile on their faces would singularly lift my moods. Helping them from the bottom of my heart brings out a warm, soothing comfort, and to bade farewell after a bare 3 hours of interaction just adds in more reluctance, I inevitably felt melancholic during the bus ride back. Never had I thought that the elderly could be friends with us teenagers, over a short span of time. CIP does help the community, or society, but the main point behind the CIP is for us to interact with the society, and expand our friendships.CIP would always be deemed as boring or meaningless before, but after the event, one would ponder back on his thoughts and think otherwise. I felt that this CIP was very successful, as our manpower was huge, accomplishing the required work swiftly. Helping others, and to see just a smile on their faces alone, makes me more than happy.
